Dubai Zoo Park

 A Short brief about Dubai Zoo park

Dubai zoo park is located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, first built in 1967, commissioned by Dubai Governor Sheikh Rashid Bin Maktoum, God’s mercy be upon him, and then built an animal park on a plot of land of approximately two hectares in the Jumeirah area. It is the oldest Dubai zoo park in the Arabian Peninsula and was a hallmark of Dubai in the 1960s, and was run by the Dubai Municipality during the first two years of its establishment.

Part of it has been redesigned and rebuilt from June 1989 to the present, there are development and renovation works in the park, and it now has a complete safari center as well as a rare group of animals.

What is worth mentioning that The original zoo has been closed since November 2017 and animals have been transported to the new Dubai Safari Park; there is a much larger open environment for animals and spaces than they live in small, very narrow cages.

Dubai Zoo Park has about 200 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish with a wonderful array of endangered species such as Bengal, Sibirate, Arabian wolf, and the hikers of the century.

The Park sections

The park is made up of various areas; there is a variety of small shops, chairs, men’s and women’s lifts, and garden facilities.

It consists generally of four units (African Village, Asian Village, Arab Safari Village, Safari General Village), rest areas, and a range of restaurants. The park has about 118 different species in its own part, while the total number is about 984 species and the total number of animals is about 2,500.

Animals include foxes, hyenas, mountain lions, lions, jaguars, chimpanzees, baboons, monkeys, deer, bears, porcupines, giraffes, and Barbary sheep. It is famous for breeding rare chimpanzees and Arabian wildcats, and it has now become a landmark of the city.

The park opening times

During the summer months (March to the end of October), the park opens from 10:00 to 18:00.

In winter ( From November to February end) from 10 am to 5:30 pm. The park receives a huge number of visitors annually, and in 2008 it reached 336,646 and sometimes receives 10,000 visitors a day. The weekly garden holiday is on Tuesday.

The park is ready to welcome children

The garden offers many fun facilities for children; it offers many fast-food restaurants, desserts, and ice cream.

There are also many educational events for them, whether about wildlife or their rare animal species and there is also a children’s farm with many useful and fun activities, and they can learn about rolling shrapnel animals such as horses, cows, and goats.

There are many activities available, most notably feeding giraffes and elephants but at specific times, and the possibility to meet animals and watch the Hood races and river heads in the water.

The African Village: It includes large and small mammal species such as African elephants, flamingo, and meerkat animals.


Asian Village: offers Great shows on stage, a variety of animals.

Safari Village: Contains the monkey of the baboons, deer, the Antelope, the zebras, and a dedicated safari theater.

The Arab village: It contains a variety of animals that house the Arab deserts such as the deer and deer.

The garden has its own distinctive waterfall and a host of exciting safari trips.

Finally, within the park, you will find a number of animal experts to help animals and birds reach good reproductive outcomes in the mating season, and they will provide information on animal species and the appropriate environmental conditions for each.

The ticket prices

The price of one ticket for entry is 2 AED.

Free entry for children Under two years old, disabled, persons with special needs, and adults over 60 years old.

However, tickets for the youngest 30 AED and the elderly 85 AED include entry into any of the four villages.

For those who do not want to experience the safari, it has been reduced Entrance ticket prices were to:-

  • The child is 20 AED only.
  • An adult will only pay 50 AED.
